A Simpler Time Alpacas & Mill

A Simpler Time Alpacas & Mill is located on a hillside of Crest, California. The drive is fairly simple, and the roads are all paved. Your GPS device will get you there safely.

As you ascend La Cresta Rd, several blue buildings trimmed in white clustered together on the hillside. This is their place.

La Cresta Rd, which becomes La Cresta Blvd, will take you beyond its hillside spot. Your GPS will guide you along the mountain ridge to Alta Lane.

To get to Alta Lane, you must turn right on Madera Verde, and then left on Alta Lane. Continue straight until you reach Alta Place. You can park along Alta Lane and a few cars can park off to the side at the top of Alta Place.

We will be shuttling guests down to the store and the mill from the top of the road, picking up at 1855 Alta Pl. So please do not drive down Alta Place.

Be sure you have your walking shoes since the area around the alpacas and mill are dirt walks.

Alpacas and Friends, Descanso

We are located at 10499 Highway 79 in Descanso, about 40 minutes east of downtown San Diego and approximately 45 minutes from La Jolla. It is an easy, gorgeous 25-minute drive east from Parkway Plaza in El Cajon. Once you exit I-8 towards CA-79 (exit 40), we are located approximately 5 miles off the exit- easily found via Google Maps. Look for a white 3-rail fence on the east side of the highway and our driveway on the property's north side. There is plenty of parking available on the property; someone should be there to greet you and direct you to a good parking spot. Parking on CA-79 is not permitted.

Please let us know if you are handicapped and/or need assistance; we'll be happy to help. If you want to schedule your trip around meal times and like country diner food- we highly recommend the Descanso Junction- just north of the highway exit/entrance on the way to our ranch.

Located within Liberty Station at the corner of Historic Decatur Rd. and Dewey Rd.
Free parking lots are located next to our building (Barracks 19) and across the street; street parking is always free.

There is plenty of Parking on the street or in the alley behind. All alley neighbors are sharing their parking spaces for this event.

Four parking spaces in front of the store. Community parking throughout the downtown.

Located in a residential neighborhood. There are 6 parking spaces in the back of the building. Street parking through the community
